Elder

Elder (Sambucus nigra) is a fast-growing ornamental shrub. Garden forms are prized for deep purple, finely cut or variegated foliage, with flat, fragrant flower heads in early summer followed by black berries in autumn. It grows happily in sun or partial shade.

Plant elder in fertile, moisture-retentive soil. A hard prune in spring keeps the shrub compact and the leaf colour vivid. Order elder from ALLIKASILM with delivery across Estonia and the EU.
