About this product
Floss flower “Blue Ball” (Ageratum houstonianum) is a low ornamental annual reaching up to 30 cm in flower. Its small, fluffy flowers are packed into dense clusters that cover the plant like a soft cushion; the variety name points to their blue colour.
Ageratum blooms for a long time, from early summer until the autumn frosts. It is ideal for edging, borders, balcony boxes and pots, and pairs well with yellow and white flowers. The plant loves sun and fertile, moist soil.
The pack contains 0.1 g of seed.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow on the surface. Ageratum seed is very fine and needs light to germinate: in March or April scatter it over moist compost, press lightly and cover with film. Keep at around +20 °C.
Plant out in early June. The plant is frost-tender, so move seedlings outdoors only once night frosts are over. Space them about 20 cm apart.
Water and deadhead. Do not let the soil dry out, especially in pots. Removing faded flower clusters keeps plants neat and prolongs flowering.
