Alpine rock cress "Rosea", 0.2 g, Žalia stotelė
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Alpine rock cress “Rosea” (Arabis alpina subsp. caucasica) — an easy, undemanding perennial that forms carpets about 10 cm high. Both the ornamental leaves and the pink flowers are attractive, covering the plants in a dense cushion.
It flowers from early spring into autumn, although less generously in the second half of summer. Ideal for low beds, rock gardens and window boxes, and the flowering stems can be cut for posies. The plant is not fussy about growing conditions.
The pack contains 0.2 g of seed (about 4500 seeds per gram), made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow shallowly and keep moist. Sow the fine seed indoors in April-May, or directly in the bed in June, covering it only very lightly. Keep the compost evenly moist until the seedlings emerge.
Choose a sunny, dry spot. Rock cress prefers free-draining soil, as standing water damages the plants in winter. Space them 25-30 cm apart so the carpets can knit together.
Trim after flowering. Once the spring flush is over, cut back the shoots to keep the cushions dense and the flowers coming. Every few years divide old clumps and replant the young sections.
