Watermelon "Sugar Delicata" F1, 5 seeds, Baltic Agro

About this product
Watermelon “Sugar Delicata” F1 (Citrullus lanatus) is an early hybrid with oval fruits averaging 9–12 kg. The flesh is very sweet and juicy, so a single melon easily feeds a crowd.
Sow indoors in March or April and plant out once the frosts are over, at the end of May or in June. Fruit ripens from July to September. Watermelon needs plenty of sun and warmth, so in Estonia it does best in a greenhouse or under cover.
The pack contains 5 seeds, made by Baltic Agro.

Advice from our agronomist
Raise plants in pots. In March or April sow each seed in its own pot, as watermelon resents root disturbance. Keep the pots somewhere warm and bright.
Plant into warm soil. Move the plants out only when the risk of frost has passed and the ground has warmed up. Under glass or polythene the fruits swell faster and ripen more reliably.
Water with care. Water generously while the fruits are growing, then ease off as they ripen for sweeter flesh. A ripe melon has a yellowish patch underneath and sounds hollow when tapped.
