About this product
China aster “Kralen” (Callistephus chinensis) is an annual cut flower forming branched plants up to 60 cm tall. The large blooms reach up to 10 cm across and are ideal for bouquets. Sturdy stems carry several flowers at once.
The aster starts flowering about 90 days after sowing. It does best in full sun in fertile, free-draining, airy soil. Young plants tolerate light frost. Use it in annual beds and for cutting; seed can also be sown directly outdoors in October.
The pack contains 1 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow in late March or April. Cover the seed with a thin layer of compost and keep at about +18 °C: seedlings appear within 7-11 days. Prick out once the first true leaf shows.
Plant out in late May. Space plants about 25-30 cm apart. Avoid ground where asters grew the previous year to reduce the risk of disease.
Cut freely. Water at the base in dry spells and cut blooms for vases just as they open.
