About this product
China aster “Princess” (Callistephus chinensis) is a well-branched annual reaching about 60 cm in height. Its flower heads measure up to 10 cm across, and the mix brings together pink, red, white, yellow and purple shades.
The first flowers open roughly 90 days after sowing, and the display continues from June to October. It suits annual borders and makes a fine cut flower. Give it a sunny position and fertile, airy, free-draining soil; light frosts do it little harm.
The pack contains 0.5 g of seed (about 225–240 seeds), made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Start under cover. Sow in late March or April into a light compost and keep at about +18 °C; seedlings appear in 7–11 days. Prick out the strongest into individual pots.
Plant out in May. Choose a sunny bed where water never stands and space plants 30 cm apart. Water at the base rather than over the foliage.
Rotate the site. Avoid growing asters in the same spot year after year, as soil-borne diseases build up. Seed may also be sown straight into the bed in October, with the spring seedlings moved later.
