About this product
China aster “Princess” (Callistephus chinensis) is a freely branching annual growing to 60 cm. Each plant carries several large flower heads up to 10 cm wide, and the mix produces blooms in pink, red, white, yellow and purple.
Flowering begins about 90 days after sowing and carries on from June to October, until the cold arrives. The larger pack is handy for a generous bed or a dedicated row of cut flowers. Plants need sun and fertile, loose, well-drained soil.
The pack contains 1 g of seed (about 450–480 seeds), made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow shallowly. Cover the seed with only a thin layer of compost and keep the tray warm, at about +18 °C. Germination takes 7–11 days; then move the seedlings somewhere cooler and brighter so they do not become leggy.
Harden off first. In mid-May stand the young plants outdoors for a few days, then set them 30 × 30 cm apart in a sunny bed.
Cut in the morning. For vases, cut stems when the flower head is almost fully open and put them straight into water.
