Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow from the second half of April to May directly in the bed 5–6 cm deep, plants 15–20 cm apart and rows 40–50 cm apart. Seedlings tolerate light frost.
Planting Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot with fertile moist soil. For a long harvest, sow in several batches 2–3 weeks apart.
Care Water in dry spells, weed and support tall plants. Pinch out the top during flowering – it protects against aphids and improves pod set.
Feeding and harvest No nitrogen is needed – apply only potassium and phosphorus. Pick pods young while the seeds are still tender; dry mature seeds for storage.
