Advice from our agronomist
When to sow. Sow directly in the bed from late May to early June at 1–2 cm depth, rows 40 cm apart; for an earlier crop you can raise seedlings in April.
Sowing. Thin plants to 15–20 cm apart. Choose a sunny spot with moist, humus-rich soil.
Care. Water evenly – drought makes roots woody and bitter. Cover with fleece against pests (flea beetles, cabbage fly).
Feeding and harvest. Feed with potassium fertiliser and a boron solution. Harvest roots in September – October; store at 0–2 °C.
