Mountain alyssum, 0.5 g, Žalia stotelė

About this product
Mountain alyssum (Alyssum montanum) — a carpeting perennial with small yellow flowers that cover the plant generously from May onwards. Plants grow about 20 cm tall, with trailing stems that form dense clumps.
It prefers a sunny position and poor, sandy loam, and is drought tolerant. Ideal for rock gardens, dry banks and bed edges where many other plants struggle. It also looks lovely tucked between the stones of walls and steps.
The pack contains 0.5 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Raise plants indoors first. Seed sown in March-April germinates at room temperature in 1-2 weeks; cover it with only a thin layer of compost. Plant out in May, leaving 25-30 cm between plants.
Do not overfeed. In rich soil the plants become leggy and flower less. On heavy clay, add sand or fine grit to the planting hole so that water does not collect around the roots.
Trim after flowering. Cut the shoots back by about a third to keep the cushions compact. Water only young plants, as established alyssum copes with drought on its own.
