Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow the seeds from May to June directly in the bed or in trays lightly covered with soil (0.5 cm). Keep the temperature at 15–20 °C; seedlings emerge in 5–10 days. Prick out at 2–3 true leaves and plant out in May–June, 20–25 cm apart.
Care Keep the soil lightly moist and avoid waterlogging. Water in dry spells; remove spent flower heads.
Use A biennial that usually flowers in the second year in June–July. Suits borders, cut flowers and cottage gardens; fragrant.
