About this product
Dahlia “Mignon” (Dahlia pinnata) is a dwarf seed-raised dahlia that flowers in its first year. Compact plants grow 35-45 cm tall and carry bright blooms 5-7 cm across; the mix includes both single-coloured and bicoloured flowers.
The dahlia grows and flowers best in a warm, sunny spot and likes light soil. It suits flower beds, borders and pots, blooming from midsummer until the frosts. In autumn the tubers that form can be lifted and stored over winter.
The pack contains 0.5 g of seed, made by AGRONOM.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow in March or April. Cover the seed with about 0.5 cm of compost and keep at +20-22 °C; seedlings usually appear within a week. Prick out into individual pots.
Plant out after the frosts. Dahlias are frost-tender: move them into beds only in late May or early June, 30 cm apart.
Deadhead regularly. This keeps new buds coming until autumn. After the first frost cut the stems down, lift the tubers, dry them and store in a cool, dry place over winter.
