Orchid soil 5 L Greenworld Premium

About this product
Orchid compost is a coarse pine bark-based growing medium for orchids. It is not really soil at all, and that is exactly how it should be: most indoor orchids are epiphytes in the wild, growing on tree branches rather than in the ground, and their roots are used to being in the air.
In ordinary flower compost, orchid roots sit in a wet mass and rot away, which is the most common reason orchids die. Between the bark chips there is air, water runs through and the roots can breathe. The medium is also suitable for repotting, which an orchid needs every couple of years once the bark has broken down and become compacted.
The pack contains 5 l.

Advice from our agronomist
Water by soaking, not pouring. Stand the pot in water for 15 minutes, then let it drain completely. Water left in the bottom rots the roots.
Watch the root colour. A silver-grey root wants water, a green one has had enough. The clear pot is not decoration — it is how you see this.
Repot when the bark breaks down. Every 2-3 years: once the medium has gone crumbly and settled, there is no air left in it.
