Sowing and pricking-out soil Farmland 18 l

About this product
Sowing and pricking-out compost is a finely sieved substrate for sowing seeds and pricking out seedlings. The main difference from ordinary flower compost is that it contains deliberately few nutrients.
This is not a flaw but the whole idea: a rich soil makes seedlings tall and leggy, and a high salt content can scorch tender roots. In a lean substrate the root goes looking for food itself and grows strong — exactly what a young plant needs. The fine, sieved texture gives even the smallest seed uniform contact with the compost on all sides, and the surface does not form a crust.
The pack contains 18 l.

Advice from our agronomist
Moisten the compost before sowing. Water poured onto dry compost washes the seed into clumps; wet the medium first, then sow.
Do not bury the seed. The rule of thumb: twice the seed diameter. Very fine seed is not covered at all.
Into the light at once. As soon as the first shoots appear, move the tray to the brightest spot — a couple of dim days and the seedlings stretch.
