About this product
Tomato and pepper compost, balcony flower compost is a nutrient-rich growing medium for hard-working plants. Tomatoes, peppers and balcony flowers are all in the same situation: a small volume of compost, a large mass of leaves and flowering or fruiting all season long. Ordinary flower compost cannot cope with that kind of load.
That is why it contains more nutrients plus a slow-release fertiliser that feeds plants for several weeks. The structure holds moisture (compost in a pot dries out quickly in hot weather) yet lets excess water drain away, so the roots are never left standing in water.

Advice from our agronomist
Water evenly. Compost that swings between dry and flooded gives tomatoes blossom end rot: calcium moves only with a steady flow of water.
Start feeding after about a month. The slow-release fertiliser runs out; after that use a liquid feed, high in potassium for tomato and pepper.
Choose a big enough pot. At least 10 litres per tomato plant — in a small pot no compost can feed a crop to the end.
