Daikon "MINO EARLY" Baltic Agro 200 g

About this product
Daikon (Raphanus sativus var. longipinnatus) is a green manure also known as a biological subsoiler. Its thick root grows 30-60 cm deep, pushes compacted soil apart and, once it decomposes, leaves behind a channel through which air and water can move.
That makes daikon ideal for places where the soil is trampled or heavy and where you cannot or would rather not dig with a spade. It also produces plenty of green matter, smothers weeds and holds on to soil nitrogen that would otherwise be washed out by autumn rain.
The pack contains 200 g.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow in the second half of summer. Sown in July or August, daikon has time to build a thick root; a spring sowing bolts and stays thin.
Leave the root in the ground. The root channel is the whole point: do not pull the plant, cut the tops and let the root rot in place.
Not before brassicas. Daikon belongs to the cabbage family, like cabbage and radish — they should not follow each other on one bed.
