Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow directly in the bed from April to August, 0.5–1 cm deep, rows 20 cm apart. Seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks.
Sowing Thin the plants to 5–10 cm apart. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded spot; in heat and long days rocket tends to bolt.
Care Water regularly so the leaves stay tender. The leaves, with a piquant nutty-mustardy flavour, turn sharper in dry heat.
Feeding and harvest No feeding is needed. Cut the young leaves from 6–7 weeks after sowing throughout the season. A hardy perennial that regrows.
