About this product

Coleus “Rokoko” (Coleus blumei) is grown for its ornamental foliage and can be kept both as a summer annual in the garden and as a houseplant. Its appeal lies in the leaves rather than the flowers.

In summer it suits flower beds, balcony boxes and patio pots; indoors it thrives on a bright windowsill. Coleus is tender, so move it outside only once night frosts are over. The brighter the spot, the more vivid the leaves; do not let the compost dry out.

The pack contains 0.02 g of seed, made by KURZEMES SĒKLAS.

Advice from our agronomist

Sow in the light. In March or April scatter the fine seed over moist compost, leave it uncovered and place the tray under film somewhere warm, around +20-22 °C. Keep the surface moist until seedlings appear.

Harden off first. Plant out in early June when nights are warm, acclimatising plants to outdoor air for a few days beforehand. Indoors, choose a bright window.

Pinch the tips. Pinch out the tips at 10-15 cm and remove flower spikes for a bushier plant with more leaves. Water evenly, especially in pots.
