Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow directly in the bed in April–May 2–3 cm deep, rows 40–50 cm apart. Seeds germinate in 2–3 weeks.
Sowing Thin the plants to 10–15 cm apart. Choose a sunny spot.
Care Water regularly, more in dry spells, and keep the bed weed-free. Soak the seeds in warm water for 12–24 hours before sowing and provide a support straight away. The seeds are poisonous.
Feeding and flowering Feed 1–2 times with a flowering-plant fertiliser and remove faded flowers – this prolongs flowering. Flowers in June–September; height 150–250 cm.
