Alexandrian clover, 300 g, Baltic Agro

About this product
Alexandrian clover (Trifolium alexandrinum), also known as Egyptian clover or berseem, is an annual clover grown as a cover crop and green manure. Plants reach 30-60 cm in height and bear white flowers.
Being a legume, the clover fixes atmospheric nitrogen with the help of root-nodule bacteria and enriches the soil with it. Cover crops improve soil fertility and reduce weeds and disease pathogens. Sow it on beds and plots cleared after early crops, or on land that is being rested.
The pack contains 300 g of seed, made by Baltic Agro.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow into warm soil. Alexandrian clover loves warmth and will not tolerate cold, so sow it from mid-May to the end of July. Cover the seed to 1-2 cm and roll the surface.
Cut at the start of flowering. The growth is then at its most succulent, and no seed has yet been set. In a warm summer it will regrow after cutting.
Work it into the soil. Chop the cut growth and dig or rotavate it in. The clover dies in an Estonian winter, so by spring the bed is clear and the residue feeds the next crop.
