Kohlrabi Modrava H is an early variety; the bulb is purple with a sweet, nutty flavour; it does not crack or bolt.
The juicy stem bulb is good fresh in salads, soups, stews and as a snack.

Advice from our agronomist
When to sow. Sow for seedlings in April at 1 cm depth (16–18 °C), or directly in the bed from late May to July in successive sowings.
Planting. Plant seedlings out in mid-May at the 4–5-leaf stage, 25 × 30 cm apart; do not plant too deep so the bulb can swell above the soil.
Care. Water evenly, as moisture swings cause cracking and woodiness; cover against pests (flea beetles) with fleece and keep the bed weed-free.
Feeding and harvest. Feed once with nitrogen two weeks after planting. Harvest bulbs when they are 6–8 cm across – larger ones turn fibrous.
