About this product
Root parsley “Cukrowa” (Petroselinum crispum var. tuberosum) is an early variety for summer and autumn harvests. The roots are smooth, up to 15 cm long, with pleasantly aromatic flesh.
The growing period is 110–150 days. Use the roots fresh or cooked and preserved; the leaves are edible too. For an early spring crop, sow the seed in autumn. It does best in a light sandy loam or a moist loam.
The pack contains 2 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Soak the seed. Parsley is slow to germinate, taking up to three weeks. Steep the seed in lukewarm water for a day before sowing and it will come up faster and more evenly.
Sow into loose soil. In April or May sow 1–1.5 cm deep in rows about 30 cm apart. Do not add fresh manure, as it makes the roots fork.
Thin in good time. When seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, leave 5–8 cm between plants. Water evenly in dry weather so the roots do not split, and lift the crop before hard frosts set in.
