Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow the seeds for seedlings from late March to April on the soil surface (they need light), covered with only a thin layer of soil. Seeds germinate in 1–3 weeks.
Planting out Plant the seedlings out in late May, 30–40 cm apart. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded spot and well-drained soil; the plant is undemanding.
Care Water moderately in dry spells. Cut the plant back after the first flush of flowers – this encourages a second flowering.
Feeding and harvest No feeding is needed. Flowers continuously and profusely from June until the first frosts; grows about 40 cm tall. A hardy perennial.
