Kochia, 0.3 g, Žalia stotelė
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Kochia (Kochia scoparia f. trichophylla), also known as summer cypress, is a very ornamental annual reaching up to 80 cm that changes colour through the season: green in early summer, turning cherry red in autumn.
Kochia grows quickly and takes clipping well, making it perfect for a low hedge dividing sections of a flower bed. It does best in full sun in loose, light, fertile soil and withstands drought. The seed is sown directly outdoors.
The pack contains 0.3 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow into warm soil. Sow directly into the bed in late May after the frosts, pressing the seed only lightly into the surface, as kochia needs light to germinate. Plants can also be raised indoors in April for an earlier display.
Give them room. Thin seedlings or set plants 30-40 cm apart for a hedge, a little wider as specimens. Water regularly at first; later kochia copes well with dry conditions.
Clip to shape. Trim plants a couple of times in summer to keep them dense. Remove them in autumn before the seed drops, or kochia will self-sow.
