Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow in late March to April under cover or on a windowsill and plant out 4–6-week-old seedlings in early to mid May, 50–60 cm apart.
Care Water evenly, mulch and hoe the soil, and feed with a nitrogen-rich fertiliser. Protect from cabbage white caterpillars and flea beetles with fleece.
Harvest Cut the heads once they are firm (September–October). Red cabbage stores well in a cool place until spring.
