Billy buttons, 0.1 g, Žalia stotelė

About this product
Billy buttons (Craspedia globosa) is a herbaceous perennial that we grow as an annual. The plant reaches 50-70 cm and carries globe-shaped yellow flower heads 2.5-3 cm across on stiff stems.
It flowers from July to October. Craspedia is a prized dried flower: the dried stems stay firm and the heads keep their bright yellow colour, which is why florists call them “drumsticks”. Grow it in borders, for cutting and for dried arrangements.
The pack contains 0.1 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Raise under cover. Sow in March or April into light seed compost, barely covering the seed, and keep evenly moist at +18-20 °C.
Plant in full sun. Set plants out in late May or early June, 25-30 cm apart. Billy buttons like light, well-drained soil and dislike standing water.
Dry at the right moment. Cut heads for drying when the ball is fully yellow. Tie stems in bunches and hang them upside down in a dark, airy room.
