Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow the seeds from March to April in trays or in a greenhouse lightly covered with soil (0.5 cm). Keep the temperature at 15–20 °C; seedlings emerge in 14–28 days. Cold stratification (2–4 weeks in the fridge) improves germination. Prick out at 2–3 true leaves and plant out in May–June, 40–50 cm apart.
Care Keep the soil lightly moist and avoid waterlogging. Prefers moist soil; water in dry spells.
Use Suits borders and damp areas; a medicinal and ornamental plant. Flowers in summer.
