When to sow Sow the seeds for seedlings in February–March on the soil surface (they need light), covered with only a thin layer of soil and keep at 18–22 °C. Seeds germinate in 2–3 weeks.

Planting out Plant the seedlings out in late May, 10–15 cm apart. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded spot.

Care Water regularly, more in dry spells, and keep the bed weed-free. The seeds are dust-fine – mix them with sand for even sowing; water from below or with a sprayer.

Feeding and flowering Feed 1–2 times with a flowering-plant fertiliser and remove faded flowers – this prolongs flowering. Flowers in June–September; height 15–30 cm.
