Apie prekę
Mimosa in the flower trade is the silver wattle (Acacia dealbata), a southern small tree or shrub with silvery-green feathery leaves and fluffy bright yellow flower balls. The description follows the species; the exact form supplied (small plant or cut branches) is not confirmed.
Mimosa is famous for its fragrant flowers, which open in winter and early spring and are traditionally linked with the arrival of spring. In Estonia the plant is grown in a container and overwintered in a bright, cool room.
Do not confuse it with the true Mimosa pudica (sensitive plant): this is the silver wattle. All data below are by species.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Plant in a roomy pot with drainage, in a light mix of peat, sand and perlite. Lime is harmful. In summer the plant can stand outdoors in a sunny, sheltered spot.
Care. It needs maximum light and warmth in summer. Pinch young shoots to encourage branching and shorten stems by a third right after flowering. Repot every 2-3 years with care, as the roots dislike damage.
Watering and feeding. Water moderately with soft water and let the top layer dry out. In the growing season feed monthly with a low-phosphorus fertiliser.
Winter care. Before the first frosts move it to a bright room at +5 to +10 C and cut back watering. The plant does not tolerate frost below -5 C.
