Pea "Avola", 20 g, Žalia stotelė
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Pea “Avola” (Pisum sativum) is a very early, high-yielding wrinkle-seeded variety. The plants grow 50-60 cm tall and need no support. The medium-sized pods are 9-12 cm long and each holds 6-7 peas.
The peas taste excellent both fresh and frozen. Seedlings withstand frost down to −4 °C, so you can sow as early as March or April, as soon as the soil can be worked. The crop is ready in June and July. Recommended spacing is 40 x 5-8 cm, and the compact habit suits smaller gardens too.
The pack contains 20 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow early. Peas tolerate cool weather, so sow as soon as the ground has thawed and dried a little. Soak the seed for a few hours, then sow 4-5 cm deep with 40 cm between rows and 5-8 cm between seeds.
Keep moist at flowering. Peas need the most water while flowering and filling their pods. Nitrogen fertiliser is unnecessary, as legumes fix their own nitrogen.
Pick young. Harvest the pods when the peas are plump but still green and sweet. Frequent picking extends the cropping period.
