Pea "Avola", 300 g, AGRONOM
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Pea “Avola” (Pisum sativum) is a very early, high-yielding marrowfat variety with compact plants of 50–60 cm that need no support. The medium pods are 9–12 cm long, each holding 6–7 exceptionally tasty peas.
Young plants withstand frost down to −4 °C, so sowing can start as soon as the soil is workable, in March or April. The crop is ready in June and July. The peas are excellent eaten fresh and freeze well.
The pack contains 300 g of seed (about 900–1800 peas), made by AGRONOM.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow early. In Estonian conditions beds are usually ready in April, once the soil has dried a little. Soak the seed for a few hours, then sow 4–5 cm deep and 5 cm apart in the row.
Water during flowering. Peas need steady moisture to fill their pods; in dry spells water generously but less often.
Pick plump pods. Marrowfat peas are sweetest when the pod is full yet still bright green. For freezing, process the crop straight after picking.
