Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow directly in the bed in May 2–3 cm deep, rows 30–40 cm apart. Seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks.
Sowing Thin the plants to 25–30 cm apart. Choose a sunny spot.
Care Water moderately, more in dry spells, and keep the bed weed-free. Do not over-feed with nitrogen – otherwise the plant makes more leaves than flowers.
Feeding and flowering Feed 1–2 times with a flowering-plant fertiliser and remove faded flowers – this prolongs flowering. Flowers in June–September; height 30–40 cm.
