Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow from spring to summer, depending on the purpose. Sowing rate: 5 kg per 250 m² (about 20 g/m²).
Sowing Scatter the seed evenly and rake it in 3–4 cm deep. Oats grow fast and are not demanding about soil.
Care Water in dry spells; little care is needed. Oats suppress weeds and improve soil structure.
Use As a green manure, mow the plants before the ears form and dig them in or leave as mulch. No feeding is needed.
