About this product
Pattypan squash Okra is an early bush variety; the fruits are small and disc-shaped, ribbed at the edges, weighing 150–250 g; first harvest about 50 days after planting, and seedlings give an even earlier crop.
Small fruits are good for stuffing, frying, pickling and canning, and their shape makes an attractive side dish.
Grow in open ground. Pack contains 1.5 g of seeds, produced by Žalia stotele.

Advice from our agronomist
When to sow. Sow seeds for seedlings in mid-April in 8–10 cm pots at 3–4 cm depth and 20–25 °C; sow directly outdoors in late May – early June, once the soil has warmed to at least 12–15 °C.
Planting. Plant out seedlings with 3–4 true leaves in late May – early June in a sunny spot with rich soil; spacing 70 × 70 cm. Cover plants with fleece if frost threatens.
Care. Water with warm water at the roots, keeping the leaves dry; mulch the soil and remove old leaves that shade the fruits. In cool weather, help the flowers with hand pollination.
Feeding and harvest. Feed every 2–3 weeks with a complete or potassium-rich fertiliser. Pick fruits at 5–8 cm across every 2–3 days; young fruits are more tender and tasty.
