Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow the seeds from February to March in trays (cold germination) on the soil surface, uncovered, as the seeds germinate in light. Keep the temperature at 10–15 °C; seedlings emerge in 14–30 days. Cold stratification (2–4 weeks in the fridge) improves germination. Prick out at 2–3 true leaves and plant out in May–June, 20–25 cm apart.
Care Keep the soil lightly moist and avoid waterlogging. Keep in part shade with moist soil; do not let it dry out in summer.
Use Suits borders, planting under trees and lawn edges. Flowers in the second year; a medicinal and edible plant.
