Advice from our agronomist
When to sow. Sow directly in the bed from March to May (or in late autumn before winter) 1 cm deep, rows 20 cm apart. Seeds are slow to germinate – 2–3 weeks.
Sowing. Thin plants to 5–8 cm apart. Soaking seeds in warm water overnight speeds up germination.
Care. Water regularly and keep the bed weed-free; the variety is hardy and tolerates cold.
Feeding and harvest. Feed once with nitrogen. Cut greens from May to October and also in winter; cutting encourages new growth.
