When to sow Sow the seeds for seedlings in February–March on the soil surface (they need light), covered with only a thin layer of soil and keep at 22–24 °C. Seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks.

Planting out Plant the seedlings out in late May, 25–30 cm apart. Choose a sunny spot.

Care Water regularly, more in dry spells, and keep the bed weed-free. The seeds are very small – mix them with sand for even sowing and keep under film or glass.

Feeding and flowering Feed 1–2 times with a flowering-plant fertiliser and remove faded flowers – this prolongs flowering. Flowers in June–September; height 25–35 cm.
