Sunflower 100 g

About this product
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is a green manure that shoots up to almost two metres in a short time and produces a correspondingly large mass of greenery. Its thick taproot goes deep and breaks through compacted layers that the roots of other plants can no longer penetrate.
It also brings up nutrients from deep down, above all potassium, that rain has washed into the lower layers. Once the plants are cut, these nutrients stay in the topsoil for the next crop. Flowering sunflowers are a bee plant and later provide food for birds too.
The pack contains 100 g.

Advice from our agronomist
Cut it before the stem turns woody. At about a metre a sunflower is still soft and rots down fast; a thick stem has to be chopped later.
Leave space. It is a big plant: crowded sowing gives thin stems and few roots.
Do not repeat the same spot. Move it every year, or its own diseases build up in the soil.
