Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow the seeds for seedlings in February–March on the soil surface (they need light), covered with only a thin layer of soil and keep at 15–18 °C. Seeds germinate in 2–3 weeks.
Planting out Plant the seedlings out in late May, 20–25 cm apart. Choose a semi-shaded spot.
Care Water regularly, more in dry spells, and keep the bed weed-free. The seeds need light and coolness – sow on the surface and keep cool; young plants dislike heat.
Feeding and flowering Feed 1–2 times with a flowering-plant fertiliser and remove faded flowers – this prolongs flowering. Flowers in April–June; height 20–30 cm. A hardy perennial.
