About this product

Daisies in garden culture means the oxeye daisy and its relatives (Leucanthemum), an undemanding perennial with white petals and a yellow centre, known to everyone as the garden daisy. No cultivar is stated, so the description follows the genus and species.

Leucanthemum blooms from June to August, looks great in meadow and cottage plantings, mixed borders and as a cut flower. The plant attracts butterflies and bees and lasts long in a vase.

The listing is filled in by species; the exact cultivar and pot size are not confirmed with the supplier. All data below are by species.

Advice from our agronomist

Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Space plants 30-40 cm apart. Water generously after planting.

Care. Remove faded flower heads to prolong flowering. Divide the clump every 3 years, otherwise it thins out and flowers less.

Watering and feeding. Water in dry weather and avoid standing water. In spring apply a balanced fertiliser or compost and avoid excess nitrogen.

Winter care and pruning. Cut the stems back to the leaf rosette after flowering or in autumn. Cover is usually not needed in Estonia; on wet soil rot is a bigger risk than frost.
