Garden and lawn lime Baltic Agro 2 kg
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Garden and lawn lime — a liming fertiliser for reducing soil acidity. In acid soil the nutrients are locked away from plants: you can apply as much fertiliser as you like, but the plant cannot take it up until the acidity is corrected.
Lime is needed where moss and sorrel grow in the lawn, where cabbages get clubroot and where beetroot stays small. Lime itself also supplies calcium to plants and improves the structure of heavy soil — soil particles bind into larger crumbs and the soil breathes better.
The pack contains 2 kg. The application rate depends on the soil, usually 10-20 kg/100 m².

Advice from our agronomist
Measure the acidity first. Lime is not applied just in case: too much locks up iron, manganese and boron and creates a new deficiency. Test the pH before choosing a rate.
Not together with manure. Lime with fresh manure or an ammonium fertiliser releases nitrogen into the air. Leave at least a couple of weeks between them.
Leave acid-lovers alone. Rhododendron, blueberry, heather and hydrangea want acid soil — no lime goes under them.
