Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow the seeds for seedlings from late February to March on the soil surface (they need light), covered with only a thin layer of soil. Temperature 20–25 °C. Seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks.
Planting out Plant the seedlings out in early June, after the frosts, 30 cm apart. Choose a sunny, warm, sheltered spot; it also suits pots.
Care Water regularly and moderately; the soil should be moist but not waterlogged. Pinch out the tips so the plant bushes out.
Feeding and harvest Feed 1–2 times with compost. Pick the leaves from July to September; before flowering they are sweeter; dry in the shade. Bring the plant indoors for winter.
