Lacy phacelia 200 g

About this product
Phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia) — a green manure unrelated to any of our garden crops. That is why it fits before and after any crop: cabbage, potatoes and cucumbers share no diseases with it.
Phacelia grows fast, produces a dense green mass and smothers weeds within a couple of weeks. Its dense fibrous roots bind soil particles and improve structure. In flower, phacelia is one of the best bee plants of all — bees and bumblebees hover over the bed throughout flowering.
The pack contains 200 g. Sowing rate about 100-150 g/100 m².

Advice from our agronomist
Sow thinner than seems right. Phacelia spreads sideways; a crowded stand gives thin stems that flatten with the first rain.
Decide what you want. For green manure, cut before flowering; for bees, let it flower and cut afterwards.
Cover the seed. Phacelia seed germinates in the dark: cover it with a thin layer of soil, as seed left on the surface will not come up.
