About this product
Pansy “Clear Crystals Scarlet” (Viola × wittrockiana) is a biennial that flowers in early spring and late autumn, when other flowers are not yet or no longer in bloom. The name points to red flowers.
Sown in July, plants begin flowering as early as September the same year, carry on until the frosts and bloom again the following spring. Pansies suit pots, balcony boxes and cemetery plantings, and can be cut for small posies. The seed germinates in darkness at +16 °C in 14-18 days.
The pack contains 0.3 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow in summer. Sow in July into a tray or a shaded seedbed, cover the seed with a thin layer of compost and keep it dark, for instance under paper or a dark cover, until seedlings appear.
Plant out in late August. Set young plants 15-20 cm apart in their final position so they root well before winter.
Protect over winter. In snowless frosts cover plants with conifer branches or fleece. In spring deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
