When to sow Sow the seeds for seedlings in February–March 0.5 cm deep and keep at 15–18 °C. Seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks.

Planting out Plant the seedlings out in April–May, 15–20 cm apart. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded spot.

Care Water moderately, more in dry spells, and keep the bed weed-free. The seeds germinate in the dark – cover them with soil. For early flowering you can also sow in June–July of the previous year.

Feeding and flowering Feed 1–2 times with a flowering-plant fertiliser and remove faded flowers – this prolongs flowering. Flowers in May–September; height 15–20 cm.
