About this product
Pansy “Frilled” (Viola × wittrockiana) is a garden pansy, also known as Wittrock’s violet. It is a biennial: plants sown in summer establish by autumn and bloom the following spring, when most other flowers are only just waking up. The variety name refers to petals with wavy edges.
Pansies are low and compact, ideal for pots, balcony boxes, bed edges and cemetery plantings. They prefer sun or light shade and moist, humus-rich soil, and cope well with cool weather.
The pack contains 0.2 g of seed, made by NOJAUS SĖKLOS.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow in early summer. Sow in June or July in a tray or a shaded seedbed, cover thinly with soil and keep it moist. Pansy seed germinates best in darkness and cool conditions.
Move to final positions in August. Space plants 15-20 cm apart so they root well before winter. In late autumn cover the bed lightly with spruce branches or leaves.
Deadhead regularly. In spring pick off faded flowers and water in dry spells, so the plants keep blooming longer instead of setting seed.
