Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Pansy “Rhinegold” (Viola × wittrockiana) is a biennial that flowers in early spring and late autumn, when little else is in bloom. Pansies suit pots, balcony boxes and cemetery plantings, and the flowers can be cut for small posies.
The seed germinates in darkness at +16 °C in 14-18 days. Sown in July, plants begin flowering in September of the same year and continue until the frosts, then bloom again the following spring. Overwintered plants get a strong head start.
The pack contains 0.3 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow cool and dark. Sow in trays in July, cover with a thin layer of compost and place somewhere shady and cool. Keep the soil moist but not wet until germination.
Plant out in August. Prick out the seedlings and set young plants in their final position in the second half of August, 15-20 cm apart. A light cover of conifer branches or leaves protects them from snowless frosts.
Deadhead regularly. Remove faded flowers and seed pods to prolong flowering. In spring give the first flower feed as soon as the winter cover comes off.
