Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow in mid May 1–2 cm deep in rows 30–40 cm apart; seedlings emerge in 7–14 days. Thin to 10–15 cm.
Care Prefers a sunny spot and deep, loose soil; water in dry weather and keep the bed weed-free.
Harvest Lift the roots in October before the hard frosts; the roots are used dried (chicory coffee substitute) and for forcing.
