Advice from our agronomist
Sowing The seeds need cold stratification: sow in autumn (September–October) directly in the bed 1 cm deep, or chill them in the fridge. They emerge in spring, sometimes only in the second year.
Care Prefers a shady or semi-shaded spot with humus-rich, moist soil (under deciduous trees). The plant goes dormant in summer; leave the planting undisturbed.
Harvest Pick young leaves from April to May before flowering, from the second or third year; take only a few leaves from each plant.
