Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow directly in the bed from late April to May, 1 cm deep, rows 30 cm apart. Seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks.
Sowing Choose a sunny spot and well-drained soil. Thin the plants to 10–15 cm apart. The plant dislikes transplanting, so sow it in its final position.
Care Water moderately, more in dry spells, and keep the bed weed-free. The flowers attract pollinators to the garden.
Feeding and harvest No feeding is needed. The seed capsules ripen in August–September; pick them once dry and brown. As a green manure, dig the plants in while flowering.
